Day 21

Wow! Three weeks down. It's been a wild and crazy three weeks. We finally made it home yesterday. We had a great flight and everything was on time which helped tremendously. The kiddos slept for 5 hours on the plane. Unfortunately I didn't get any sleep. There was a lady on the plane with two kiddos. One was 2 and the baby was 3 months. The two year old screamed about half of the flight. About 3 hours before the flight was over I asked if she wanted some help and she gave me the baby to hold. I walked up and down the aisles and snuggled her while she slept. She was such a tiny little thing. I loved getting to hold her, but so glad those days are long behind me. It was really nice to tell my three kiddos it was bedtime on the plane and for them to go to sleep.

A good friend came to the airport to pick us up so we didn't have to haul all of our luggage on the train and metro. It was so sweet of her. She is 9 months pregnant and I was worried we may deliver little Annika in the van. All went well and we got home safe and sound. The kids stayed up all day and went to bed at 7:00 last night and awoke at 9:00 this morning. We have had a pretty good day and gotten some unpacking done and made our first trip to the Citadel (the place where Abrahm works) without Abrahm. It went well. I even had a whole conversation in French! We also took Adam to his French lesson and then the rest of us went to the park. Did I mention how amazing the weather is here? It is so cool and breezy. Lovin' it! I can't say I miss the weather of Alabama, that's for sure.

So, overall we had a pretty successful day and are looking forward to some rest this evening. Lots more to do before school starts next week. I will try to update the blog with pictures soon. I took over 1200 photos on this trip so it will take some time to get through them. Hopefully now that I am home I will be posting pretty much everyday or every other day.

Well I guess we missed that good weather. It was hot there this summer and even hotter when we got back to the US. My friends were joking that I brought it back home with us. Sounds as if the jetlag was good the first night . . . hope life gets into a routine and no more sad nights. Hopefully being in school will help, are all three going this year?

Thanks Emily. I think about you guys often as well. I miss our "old" Clarksville family!

Heidi - it was hot while we were in London and even here in France for a week or two before we left, but nothing near as bad as that south Alabama heat and humidity! The kids hated going outside in it.
All 3 kiddos start school next Thursday and Friday. I am sure once we get in a routine, things will even out. I think it was just a shock for her to come home and for Daddy to not be here. We talked to her about it, but she just didn't get it. Thanks for thinking of us!
