Well today was the first full day of school! We all had to be up, dressed and out of the house by 8:25. We made it with a few minutes to spare. Since yesterday was technically Adam's first day and today was Alden and Adalee's first day, I thought I'd make another special breakfast. I made homemade cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting. Quite the hit this morning!
We then got dressed and headed over to the school. We dropped Adam off first. Lots of kids were waiting on him and he immediately started playing with his friends. Next I dropped Adalee off at her room. She was a little nervous this morning, but still excited. She was still excited until some little boy came in the room screaming and kicking. She just gave me a look like, "Mommy don't leave me here!", but she went in right away anyways and seemed okay. Then I dropped off Alden at his spot. Once again the teachers greeted him by name and his friends were waiting to see him.
I came home and worked on cleaning up the kitchen from breakfast and then started working on the cake. Three hours passed by way too quickly and it was time to get Adalee and Alden for lunch. I brought them home, fed them lunch and they played a while. At 1:30 I dropped them back off at school. Adalee's class was laying down for naps and Alden's was on the playground. I came back home then, and finished the cake and cleaned some more.
At 4:15 I picked up the kiddos and waited around until my meeting at 4:45. We had a meeting about the French as a Foreign Language Program. Adam will be getting extra French help everyday and then getting help with his homework in the afternoon. After the meeting two other families came over to our house and we ate our "Welcome Back to School" Cake I made.
After they left we had our homemade pizza and watched a new VeggieTales Princess Movie. The kids really enjoyed it and I enjoyed snuggling with all of my sweeties!
This weekend is the Braderie here in Lille. It will be absolutely packed. There are more than a million people that travel into the city for basically a city wide yard sale. I am planning on staying tucked away safely in my little apartment!
