Day 4

Today I woke up feeling a little better. The kids played for a while because they were awaiting the arrival of Mike, Janel, Aislyn, and Charlie. They had driven down from Philly for a visit. The kiddos got along really well. They played games and then headed outside to terrorize the cat. They enjoyed running around and then going for a 4 wheeler ride! It was such a fun day! Thanks Janel and Mike for taking the time to come down to see us!

Day 3

This morning I woke up still feeling pretty yucky. By the afternoon, I was feeling a little better. I spent the day kind of taking it easy again and the kiddos spent the day playing on the farm. They chased Speedy the cat and Brownie the chicken. They dug in the dirt with Abrahm's old tractors. By the end of the afternoon we headed to Bruster's and the grocery store to get things ready for our visitor's the next day.

Day 2

I finally ended up in the Emergency Room today. Spent just about all day there. Gay and the kiddos dropped me off and then headed to have fun in Williamsport. They went to Wegmen's (a very nice grocery store that has a supervised play area for kids), McDonald's and Bruster's. It was a fun filled day for them.

I ended up having a bag of IV fluids, IV antibiotics and some Potassium since I was getting dehydrated. I had a terrible urinary tract infection and food poisoning of some type. They sent me home with some antibiotics and then told me they would call in a day or two with my other lab results.

By the afternoon I was feeling pretty yucky again and just went home to rest. The kids just enjoyed more time on the farm and being spoiled by Grammy.

Day 1

The day after we arrived in Philadelphia I became pretty sick. I had high fevers and chills. I couldn't eat or drink. After taking some Motrin I felt a little better, so we decided to try and drive back to Elimsport. I don't really remember the ride because I was feeling so yucky. We stopped at the Farmer's Market in Lewisburg briefly so that the kids could see PopPop. He has his Bruster's trailer down there on Wednesdays to sell ice cream. Adam decided to stay and help him and we took the rest of the kiddos home. Once at the farm, the Adalee and Alden were reunited with Speedy the cat (and a new chicken friend). The rest of the day the kiddos spent time hanging out on the farm and playing with toys.

D-Day

Well D-day has finally arrived. After months and months of preparation and anticipation we said our goodbyes. The kids and I actually left first this time. It was kind of wierd to be leaving Abrahm. When we originally booked the tickets he was supposed to be leaving the same day as me, but you know how plans change in the Army. This actually worked out quite well.

He rode the train with us to Paris and helped get us checked in at the airport. We thought he would be able to go with us to the gate, but we had a misunderstanding with the counter agent and ended up having to say a very quick goodbye at security. It turned out probably better that way, so the goodbye wasn't too long and drawn out. After saying goodbye we went through security. We were taken to the worker's security area with the ticket agent (she wanted to help us through to our gate since Abrahm couldn't). We got right to the front of the line, but we were searched like mad. I was patted down and the kids backpacks were ransacked! Everyone was nice, but it just irritates me that they spend 20 minutes going through my children's things.

The flight was great! We took off a little late, but not too bad. The kids were just about perfect. We did have a problem getting all of us seats together. Neither person next to the windows would trade with us so all three kids could be together. It really irritated me, but what do you do? I put Adalee by me and the two boys across the aisle. After we ate, I moved Adalee into the seat with Alden and all three watched a movie. Adalee fell asleep, but was prompty awakened by the rude window seat guy who got up about 10 minutes after she passed out. So bascially NO ONE slept the entire 9 1/2 hours we were on the plane. The kids enjoyed their Legos, movies and the in flight gaming/video system. Like I said, overall, it was a really good flight.

We arrived in Philadelphia on time. We made it through the passport check, baggage claim and customs fairly uneventfully. When we got outside Grammy was waiting for us. We then hopped on the shuttle from our hotel and headed to the hotel. Once there, we put our suitcases in the room and Aunt Sharon, Uncle Charlie, Mike, Janel, Aislyn and Charlie came for a visit. They brought dinner to our hotel and we enjoyed dinner and catching up for a little while. Even though the kids were really, really tired, they did pretty well. After everyone left, I put the kiddos in their PJs and put them to bed. They passed out immediately.

Unfortunately, I started feeling pretty bad. I got the shakes, and spiked a pretty high fever. I ended up spending some time in the hospital, but that is another story for another night. I am headed to bed now. I hope to be able to update more tomorrow. Thanks for checking in on us!

Family Time

I have spent the last 2 days busily packing so we could have today to just enjoy being a family. We had an amazing day! We spent all day at the park, the zoo, riding bike, picnicking, laughing, and loving. Pretty much a perfect day! Of course, we had to squeeze one last photo session in. I took tons of pictures of Abrahm with the kiddos. They turned out fantastic. I will show the rest to you later, but here is a family shot I got using our tripod.
Please pray for us as our separation begins tomorrow. I will be returning to the US for 30 days and then Abrahm will be leaving for Afghanistan the beginning of next week. I hate that I am leaving early, but with all the changes that take place with deployment dates, there was nothing we could do. I have a few surprises planned for him so I hope he isn't too lonely. Thanks so much for all of the love and support. We are so blessed!

Here we go again...

Hello All! I will be updating this site from now until Abrahm returns from deployment. The children and I will be leaving for the US next Tuesday. Abrahm will deploy to Afghanistan about a week after that. We would really appreciate your prayers as we make this transition once again. Thanks for all of the support!

Deployment Days: Ready or Not, Here we Go!

Welcome to our new Deployment Blog! Instead of making our main one private, I am just going to make a separate deployment blog that I will use while Abrahm is deployed. Please leave me a comment and let me know you found it! I will only be updating this blog during the deployment and will change back to the old one when Abrahm returns. I will put a post on my other blog to let you know the exact date of the switch!
