We made it a month! Yesterday was the official one month mark of this deployment. Only 5 more to go! That doesn't sound too bad.
Today was a busy Saturday. We awoke with the seranade of a Jazz/Blues band. I heard them and wondered where they were and why they were playing. When I looked out the window I saw that the runners were coming by for the half marathon. It was only 8:30 am, so the kiddos were still in their jammies. I called them and told them to put shoes on, and we headed outside. The band was just a couple of doors down in front of our Boulangerie. The streets were lined with people watching the runners go by. So we decided to hang out with them for a while. The kids danced and cheered on the runners. It was a really fun time! This weekend is the Braderie (think huge yard sale) in Lille. It will bring in over 1 million people to our fair city. Needless to say things get a little crazy around here, so there is no driving anywhere.
We decided to take a little walk to our favorite kebab place for lunch and then head to a small grocery store to pick up a couple of things. After the grocery store, we headed to the park for the kids to play. When we got home I worked with Adam on some of his homework. I also worked on trying to decipher all the notes that the teachers sent home. This is going to prove to be quite challenging since my French speaking hubby up and left me :-)
Well the kiddos are in bed now, so I am going to try to sit back, relax and have a glass of wine and watch the newest episode of Project Runway! Have a great Saturday everyone!
